I was so pleased to be selected to exhibit at Wonderwool Wales this April. It is one of the best wool shows for so many reasons…. it is extremely well organised, the volunteers are super helpful and friendly, there is a wonderful atmosphere amongst the exhibitors, the space for my display is great and most of all I really loved meeting so many lovely visitors!

There is always lots to inspire you at Wonderwool Wales and this year I was blown away by the Crocheted Flock of Seagulls created by Crafting the City, a group based in Bristol. Vicky Harrison designed the flock of herring gulls, black headed gulls and lesser black headed gulls when she heard of the decline of seagulls. Each gull had different individual personalities, from Long John Seagull to Megan Margull and Gertrude the Gulluffragette!
Wonderwool Wales is also a great place to see where your yarn comes from with lots of opportunity to admire sheep and goats up close!
Another highlight is the Sheepwalk, just like a catwalk, but where people model their hand-knitted, crocheted, spun and woven woolly garments. I am always too shy (and often too busy on my stall) to do any modelling, so I send my Mum off on to the stage and this year she did a fantastic job showing off a beautiful cardigan she knitted in Fair Cotton, a bobble hat, fingerless gloves and carrying a Hexagon Handbag!
I have to say a massive thank you to my Mum and Dad who came with me and helped set up and pack up the stall and who were on hand to get many much needed cups of tea and sandwiches! I really couldn’t have done it without them!
I have almost unpacked all the boxes and just need now to restock the shop with some more cotton and wool!
